Getting Dirty for Jesus

So I just got back from my mission trip to Tecate Mexico. What an experience!! Jesus showed up on this trip... My car left early saturday morning and we were going to spend saturday night in so-cal.... On the way down we made many stops just taking our time... then as we were coming down I-5 we came across an accident scene.... There on the side of the road was a lady holding a baby face down in her lap.... We pulled over, what else could we do being the revivalists we are, and got out of the car each of us knowing our purpose. We saw the mangled car... it had apparently blown a tire and hit the middle divider spun around and hit it again... At some point the baby had been thrown out of the car.... As we approached where the baby was the mother was on the ground in front of the lady holding the baby screaming in horror, "my baby, my baby, what's happening to my baby.... Lorry walked up to the baby and asked the mom if she oculd pray, after the mother agreed Lorry put her hand on the baby and began praying. I got down on the ground and held onto the screaming mother releasing the peace of Heaven over her and the whole situation... Daniel also put his hand on the baby and began to pray.... The baby wasn't breathing and Lorry couldn't find a pulse.... Rosario was holding the baby's older brother comforting the litle boy who was in horror at what was happening to his brother.... After some number of minutes praying the baby began to breath.... The mother was still frantic and many other people were arriving on the scene.... Some ladies began trying to get information from teh mother so I backed away and went to where they were praying for the baby and began to pray.... as I looked up I was three more Bethel students approaching, my jaw almost dropped, they had passed us over an hour earlier and here they were arriving on the scene behind us.... It began to strike me as I realized that God had divinely set up that our two cars would be there right after the accident to bring his kingdom... As I realized that there were seven carriers of the kingdom on site I began to understand that it was impossible for nothing to happen.... The paramedics arrived and turned over the baby who had two gashes on his face, a lot less damage than you would expect on an infant who had been thrown from a moving car... Rosario began comforting the mother some more and the mother accepted Jesus!! The father was broken as he stood and watched them put one of those breathing tubes on his baby.... The baby began to cry and arch it's back and my heart leapt because I knew that was a good thing... Then the police told us since we hadn't witnessed the actual accident we could leave.... We then got in the car and were all so overcome with the goodness of God that all we could do was worship.... The baby had been lifeless when we arrived and as were leavin gthe baby was breathing and crying.... Jesus had invaded that situation.....

The next day we headed into Mexico and were having a grand ol' time, until we found out that the directions to the place were utterly confusing.... After two-three hours lost in Mexico with Rosario asking everyone we saw where Rancho De Sus Ninos is, and a few wild goose chases we were on one the longest bumpiest dirt roads I'd ever been on in my life and it was dark outside.... We asked many more people and finally three or so hours after crossing the border, arrived at the orphanage, I wanted to get out and kiss the ground.... There were two more teams to come after us one at ten and the other one closer to one.... at least now we all have good stories to tell about those horrible directions!!!

Monday was a good day as we just relaxed during the morning and had some worship/prayer time together as a group.... then Monday night we boarded the bus and headed into Tijuana.... We met up with a trailer that has a drop down stage and parked in a dirt parking lot where we set up church.... We then grabbed handfulls of flyers and set off with our interpreters to canvas the neighborhood and invite everyone we could to the evening service.... After we had been handing out flyers for a while we ran into a lady and a little boy and little girl.... We asked if they needed prayer and the lady said we could go with her to pray for her sister the mother of the children.... We got to the "house" and went in... We talked to the mother for a couple minutes and then all prayed for her.... She was so touched.... She had circulation problems and an ulcer but she felt the power of God in her body and believed she was healed!!! Rosario, who was my group's interpretor, asked the lady(Maria) if she wanted to receive Jesus into her heart.... The lady nodded her head and then Rosario led her in prayer.... then Rosario turned to the group of children that had been in the house and to the sister and then asked them all if they wanted Jesus too.... they all said Yes and Rosario led the whole family in a prayer.... We were getting ready to leave when Ryan, one on the guys in our group) saw Maria's older son in the back of the house and called for him.... Ryan then prophesied over the boy and the boy was touched.... the boy then also recieved Jesus..... Later as we were continuing to hand out flyers Rosario felt that we should buy the family groceries so we found a store bought them groceries and took them back to them.... We gave them the groceries totally blessing them.... Later that night they came to the service and brought thier mother( Maria's mother) and she also recieved Jesus... and then the sister who had originally took us to the house got healed of deafness in one ear..... and this was just the first night....

Tuesday was our first real work day.... in the morning we were on work crew, mixing concrete with shovels... some hard work!! and digging trenches for sewer pipe..... Then those of us on VBS left to get cleane dup and go to VBS.... The first day of VBS was pretty crazy as our group got the kids who were just at the balloon station so they were a little wild.... But still we told the kids that Jesus was going to give them a picture of what he thought of them and that they should draw it.... we saw some pretty good pictures.... Tuesday night we loaded into the bus and headed to Tijuana again, this time to a church.... We began to Canvas again, but this time there weren't so many people out so we stopped and prayed for people to come and then gradually the amount of people out began to grow and grow.... We began to go into stores and ask if we could pray over the business and prophesy over them and they allowed us and Ryan had some right on words for this one store owner.... That night the church was packed with people and we worshipped, then worshipped some more, then had a drama provided by our team, and then began to pray for the sick.... there were many healings but I wasn't up front during them so I don't know specifics.... I do know that the people were touched....

Wednesday was much of the same during the morning, hard work, then VBS and the kids were still pretty wild but not so bad as the first day.... Wwednesday afternoon we went to the youth center in Tijuana La Roca and handed out more flyers then we just played sports with the youth and did prophetic art and face painting.... I did some prophetic art with colored pencil's and the face paints....

Thursday was out last ministry day and we wanted to finish strong.... in the morning we did work crew which was unloading a thousand brick roof tiles and then we did VBS and we had older children and they were a lot more calm than the other groups.... The first group I drew a picture with a little girl who wasn't getting anything and the second group was mine to lead.... I told the children that they were going to get a picture from God about what he thinks of them and then we wanted them to draw it.... I prayed for them and we passed out the coloring supplies.... I then asked who didn't get a picture and went around praying for the kids who didn't get a picture.... Some of the older kids gave me some of their pictures which were absolutley beautiful... That night we loaded into the bus, yet agian, and this time headed for Tecate.... We went to another church and handed out flyers.... A couple people in my group were sensing opposition that the people there were not as open.... We came across a mother and a duaghter outside their house... The front yard was full of beautiful flowers and God gave both Ryan and I prophetic words about her being like her flowers.... This lady was very touched and then we prophesied over her daughter and the mother said we were right on.... after more flyers... we had the service in the church and ended the evening with many more healings, a man who came on crutches didn't need them when he left, and then a fire tunnel....

Friday we had a fun day in Rosarito at the Beach and shopping.... Then Saturday morning we loaded into our cars and headed home....

....So I came home with a head cold and some sore muscles but it was all worth it.... I made so many relationships with Bethel students I wouldn't have otherwise met and I grew in so many ways.... Weeks before this trip God began to ask me "do you trust Me" Well He proved Himself trustworthy on this trip..... I'll never be the same, and may the fires we started in Mexico grow until the whole nation is consumed with the fires of heaven!!!

God is incredible.... sorry if this was long blog but this was an incredible week....
